Recently, a letter of thanks from the Head of the Central Sanitary and Epidemiological Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was received to the leadership of the International Non-Governmental Organization "International Institute for HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis", in which he showed his respect and thanksed for cooperation for project "DHAPP PEPFAR", which lasted from 2014 to 2017.
In this letter Head of the Central Sanitary and Epidemiological Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine expresses gratitude to Eliot Pearlman and his contribution to the development of the organization of preventive measures to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis among military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For the needs of the health facilities of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, 60,000 units of immunohromatic one-stage HIV tests were purchased and with the help of trainings 125 specialists on laboratory diagnostics of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine were trained. Also, thanks to the implementation of the "DHAPP PEPFAR" project, more than 25,000 troops have received assistance in individual counseling and testing rooms.
The Institute created and arranged delivery to the military units of the Armed Forces of 125 thousand units of sanitary and educational bulletins on the topics of the most topical socially dangerous infectious diseases and 70 thousand units of information card games.
It is important to note that due to the activities of the Director of the IGO, Eliot Jacobz Pearlman, the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was recognized as a risk group and included in support projects funded by the Global Fund.
